It's the widescreen's fault!

Ever known any videogames that really broke the fourth wall?

Metal Gear Solid for the original PlayStation. The entire "Phyco Mantis" part completely annihilated it!

One of the most hardest bosses on that game. He switched the controlers around and he switched your memory cards around. All in all he was an major pain.

He didn't switch your memory cards around... or your controllers...

Basically, he reads out some of the saves you have on your memory card to you. He could also react to whatever you were doing as you input the actions into your primary controller, making him appear to be 'psychic' in instantly reacting to all your moves. You had to use the second-player controller, as he didn't read off of that, and couldn't 'read your mind' when you used it, thus, if you used that controller against him, he was much easier to beat.
He himself, however, didn't swap anything...

Yeah, but what really broke the fourth wall was in a cutscene where he tells the player to "put your controller down... that's it!" And then he made it move. Though, it really just vibrated.

Then, Colonel told Snake to "switch the controller to port 2!"

I was all like "What?" And Mantis was all like "How did you beat me!?"

That sounds like a dumb game.
